Baidu-backed electric vehicle company, Jidu Auto, launched a special edition of the company’s first electric vehicle — the Robo-01 — on Thursday. The vehicle is priced at around $55,000 and is a co-branded model in cooperation with China’s Lunar Exploration Project.

The Lunar Edition of the crossover comes equipped with a 100 kilowatt hours battery pack supplied by CATL and will be able to go about 373 miles on a full charge and from 0 to 100 km per hour in 3.9 seconds.

Released alongside the Robo-01 is JIDU’s advanced intelligent driving system. The system includes Point-to-Point Autopilot (PPA), and a high-level intelligent driving solution designed to handle highways, city streets, and parking situations.

Jidu claims that Baidu’s (NASDAQ:BIDU) autonomous driving technology will enable the car to navigate both highways and urban environments and provide a point-to-point autonomous experience to car owners starting in several major Chinese cities, where a high-definition map database is accessible.

Aside from the Lunar Edition, ROBO-01’s standard edition will also be released soon with the delivery of the two editions beginning in 2023.

Shares of BIDU are down 3.95% in mid-day trading on Friday.
