Australia stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 down 0.63%

At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 declined 0.63%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Webjet Ltd (ASX:WEB), which rose 3.84% or 0.28 points to trade at 7.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX:CUV) added 2.91% or 0.55 points to end at 19.43 and Unibail Rodamco Westfield (ASX:URW) was up 2.51% or 0.09 points to 3.67 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Nuix Ltd (ASX:NXL), which fell 7.32% or 0.08 points to trade at 0.95 at the close. Zip Co Ltd (ASX:ZIP) declined 7.26% or 0.05 points to end at 0.57 and Appen Ltd (ASX:APX) was down 5.51% or 0.13 points to 2.23.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 815 to 465 and 426 ended unchanged.

Shares in Webjet Ltd (ASX:WEB) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 3.84% or 0.28 to 7.58.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 0.29% to 12.23.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.17% or 3.45 to $1,977.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.89% or 0.65 to hit $73.56 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.72% or 0.55 to trade at $77.39 a barrel.

AUD/USD was unchanged 0.51% to 0.66, while AUD/JPY fell 0.61% to 91.03.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.00% at 103.38.
