Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.71%

At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 added 0.71%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Insignia Financial Ltd (ASX:IFL), which rose 11.36% or 0.36 points to trade at 3.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Nine Entertainment Co Holdings Ltd (ASX:NEC) added 9.00% or 0.18 points to end at 2.18 and Qube Holdings Ltd (ASX:QUB) was up 8.49% or 0.23 points to 2.94 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Domino’S Pizza Enterprises Ltd (ASX:DMP), which fell 9.55% or 6.89 points to trade at 65.26 at the close. Perpetual Ltd (ASX:PPT) declined 9.44% or 2.86 points to end at 27.44 and Deterra Royalties Ltd (ASX:DRR) was down 7.02% or 0.32 points to 4.24.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 780 to 595 and 373 ended unchanged.

Shares in Perpetual Ltd (ASX:PPT) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.44% or 2.86 to 27.44.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 6.95% to 12.99.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.76% or 13.30 to $1,774.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.56% or 0.53 to hit $95.42 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.76 to trade at $101.98 a barrel.

AUD/USD was up 0.97% to 0.70, while AUD/JPY rose 0.52% to 95.20.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 108.21.
