Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.65%

At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.65%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Hub24 Ltd (ASX:HUB), which rose 5.73% or 1.29 points to trade at 23.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Perenti Global Ltd (ASX:PRN) added 5.49% or 0.05 points to end at 0.96 and Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX:CUV) was up 4.80% or 1.06 points to 23.14 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Link Administration Holdings Ltd (ASX:LNK), which fell 20.20% or 0.90 points to trade at 3.58 at the close. Ramsay Health Care Ltd (ASX:RHC) declined 10.35% or 7.27 points to end at 62.94 and Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX:PBH) was down 2.35% or 0.06 points to 2.29.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 812 to 527 and 400 ended unchanged.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 2.24% to 14.68.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.32% or 5.60 to $1,735.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.85% or 0.75 to hit $88.53 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.79% or 0.74 to trade at $94.74 a barrel.

AUD/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 0.69, while AUD/JPY fell 0.40% to 97.99.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 107.82.
