Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.47%

At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 added 0.47%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Kogan.com Ltd (ASX:KGN), which rose 9.14% or 0.32 points to trade at 3.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Resolute Mining Ltd (ASX:RSG) added 6.52% or 0.02 points to end at 0.25 and Polynovo Ltd (ASX:PNV) was up 6.03% or 0.14 points to 2.46 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX:PBH), which fell 10.31% or 0.15 points to trade at 1.30 at the close. Harvey Norman Holdings Ltd (ASX:HVN) declined 7.45% or 0.31 points to end at 3.85 and Adbri Ltd (ASX:ABC) was down 7.07% or 0.13 points to 1.71.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 687 to 568 and 397 ended unchanged.

Shares in Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX:PBH) fell to 52-week lows; falling 10.31% or 0.15 to 1.30.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 3.98% to 12.83.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.38% or 6.85 to $1,818.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.90% or 0.68 to hit $76.36 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.64 to trade at $82.68 a barrel.

AUD/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 0.67, while AUD/JPY fell 0.01% to 91.71.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 104.79.
