Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.47%

At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.47%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Omni Bridgeway Ltd (ASX:OBL), which rose 11.44% or 0.47 points to trade at 4.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Mineral Resources Ltd (ASX:MIN) added 6.20% or 3.97 points to end at 67.96 and A2 Milk Company Ltd (ASX:A2M) was up 6.11% or 0.33 points to 5.73 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Ramelius Resources Ltd (ASX:RMS), which fell 5.23% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.82 at the close. Domino’S Pizza Enterprises Ltd (ASX:DMP) declined 3.71% or 2.41 points to end at 62.58 and Downer Edi Ltd (ASX:DOW) was down 2.52% or 0.13 points to 5.03.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 806 to 541 and 414 ended unchanged.

Shares in Ramelius Resources Ltd (ASX:RMS) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.23% or 0.05 to 0.82. Shares in Mineral Resources Ltd (ASX:MIN) rose to all time highs; rising 6.20% or 3.97 to 67.96.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 1.84% to 15.29.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.26% or 4.50 to $1,745.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.20% or 2.13 to hit $94.88 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.15% or 2.21 to trade at $100.72 a barrel.

AUD/USD was unchanged 0.59% to 0.69, while AUD/JPY rose 0.27% to 96.00.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 108.45.
