Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.42%

At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 added 0.42%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Nuix Ltd (ASX:NXL), which rose 10.78% or 0.11 points to trade at 1.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Resolute Mining Ltd (ASX:RSG) added 7.94% or 0.03 points to end at 0.34 and Perenti Global Ltd (ASX:PRN) was up 7.39% or 0.08 points to 1.09 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Evolution Mining Ltd (ASX:EVN), which fell 5.15% or 0.14 points to trade at 2.58 at the close. St Barbara Ltd (ASX:SBM) declined 5.00% or 0.03 points to end at 0.57 and Cromwell Property Group (ASX:CMW) was down 4.76% or 0.03 points to 0.60.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 706 to 541 and 359 ended unchanged.

Shares in Cromwell Property Group (ASX:CMW) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.76% or 0.03 to 0.60.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 3.80% to 14.85.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.64% or 12.30 to $1,935.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.41% or 0.28 to hit $68.63 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.30 to trade at $75.00 a barrel.

AUD/USD was up 0.92% to 0.67, while AUD/JPY rose 0.30% to 89.25.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 103.65.
