Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.11%

At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.11%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Blackmores Ltd (ASX:BKL), which rose 13.66% or 8.71 points to trade at 72.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Polynovo Ltd (ASX:PNV) added 8.73% or 0.220 points to end at 2.740 and Ramelius Resources Ltd (ASX:RMS) was up 7.57% or 0.145 points to 2.060 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Adelaide Brighton Ltd (ASX:ABC), which fell 5.54% or 0.170 points to trade at 2.900 at the close. Flight Centre Ltd (ASX:FLT) declined 4.63% or 0.58 points to end at 11.95 and Cooper Energy Ltd (ASX:COE) was down 4.41% or 0.015 points to 0.325.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 660 to 587 and 336 ended unchanged.

Shares in Cooper Energy Ltd (ASX:COE) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.41% or 0.015 to 0.325.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 0.61% to 22.214.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.17% or 3.30 to $1908.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.11% or 1.23 to hit $38.34 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.60% or 1.08 to trade at $40.53 a barrel.

AUD/USD was up 0.17% to 0.7140, while AUD/JPY fell 0.05% to 74.39.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 93.127.
