3M Earnings Beat, Revenue Misses In Q1

3M announced earnings per share of $2.65 on revenue of $8.8B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $2.32 on revenue of $8.83B.

3M shares are down 16% from the beginning of the year, still down 28.88% from its 52 week high of $208.95 set on May 10, 2021. They are under-performing the S&P 500 which is down 9.86% from the start of the year.

3M’s report follows an earnings beat by United Parcel Service on Tuesday, who reported EPS of $3.05 on revenue of $24.38B, compared to forecasts EPS of $2.89 on revenue of $23.82B.

Union Pacific had beat expectations on Thursday with first quarter EPS of $2.57 on revenue of $5.86B, compared to forecast for EPS of $2.56 on revenue of $5.71B.
