The worst performers of the session were Nippon Suisan Kaisha, Ltd. (T:), which fell 4.54% or 30.0 points to trade at 631.0 at the close. Konami Corp. (T:) declined 3.56% or 170.0 points to end at 4610.0 and Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd (T:) was down 2.78% or 60.0 points to 2096.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2253 to 1265 and 253 ended unchanged.
