Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.10%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.10%, while the MDAX index declined 0.57%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.78%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which rose 1.92% or 0.88 points to trade at 46.66 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (DE:SAPG) added 1.17% or 1.380 points to end at 119.780 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) was up 1.14% or 1.040 points to 91.940 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn), which fell 13.82% or 11.910 points to trade at 74.245 at the close. HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) declined 5.26% or 4.12 points to end at 74.22 and Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) was down 4.48% or 3.49 points to 74.49.

The top performers on the MDAX were Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which rose 1.77% to 59.900, K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which was up 1.77% to settle at 16.017 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which gained 1.08% to close at 11.72.

The worst performers were Rational AG (DE:RAAG) which was down 3.74% to 828.00 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 3.56% to settle at 107.050 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was down 3.02% to 61.700 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which rose 1.17% to 119.780, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was up 1.08% to settle at 11.72 and Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which gained 1.03% to close at 30.51.

The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 4.93% to 33.550 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 3.56% to settle at 107.050 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 3.24% to 39.400 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 440 to 252 and 86 ended unchanged.

Shares in K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.77% or 0.279 to 16.017.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.08% to 20.22.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.49% or 8.65 to $1785.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.54% or 0.38 to hit $71.32 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.36 to trade at $74.78 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1322, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8529.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 95.985.
