Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 2.82%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 2.82%, while the MDAX index added 2.48%, and the TecDAX index gained 3.69%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Porsche Automobil Holding SE (DE:PSHG_p), which rose 8.63% or 6.500 points to trade at 81.810 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) added 8.01% or 13.70 points to end at 184.66 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) was up 7.82% or 7.80 points to 107.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which fell 0.20% or 0.070 points to trade at 35.175 at the close. Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) added 0.20% or 0.095 points to end at 47.710 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was up 0.36% or 0.18 points to 50.62.

The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 9.48% to 112.000, Hypoport AG (DE:HYQGn) which was up 6.49% to settle at 528.000 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which gained 6.25% to close at 17.812.

The worst performers were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was down 0.50% to 13.7950 in late trade, Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:AOXG) which lost 0.20% to settle at 19.520 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which was down 0.15% to 5.434 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 9.48% to 112.000, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was up 7.58% to settle at 34.765 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which gained 7.48% to close at 97.000.

The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 0.48% to 134.150 in late trade, Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which gained 0.17% to settle at 29.86 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was up 0.20% to 47.710 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 601 to 111 and 60 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 16.48% to 22.66.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.27% or 4.75 to $1784.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.01% or 2.79 to hit $72.28 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.52% or 2.57 to trade at $75.65 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1248, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8503.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 96.455.
