At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.95%, while the MDAX index gained 1.10%, and the TecDAX index gained 2.05%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which rose 6.92% or 7.35 points to trade at 113.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Linde PLC (DE:LINI) added 5.59% or 11.300 points to end at 213.300 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was up 3.50% or 0.895 points to 26.435 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn), which fell 2.84% or 6.10 points to trade at 208.90 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) declined 0.71% or 0.42 points to end at 58.88 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was down 0.27% or 0.023 points to 8.535.
The top performers on the MDAX were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which rose 9.47% to 10.9250, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was up 6.42% to settle at 82.000 and RTL Group SA (DE:RRTL) which gained 5.77% to close at 35.900.
The worst performers were GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which was down 5.63% to 28.740 in late trade, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which lost 5.26% to settle at 4.037 and Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was down 2.64% to 60.950 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which rose 7.02% to 18.600, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was up 6.42% to settle at 82.000 and S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which gained 6.50% to close at 18.36.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 1.68% to 96.370 in late trade, Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which lost 0.94% to settle at 18.500 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was up 0.13% to 43.290 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 470 to 210 and 22 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.34% to 28.21.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.90% or 54.95 to $1951.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.10% or 0.43 to hit $38.72 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.95% or 0.39 to trade at $40.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.81% to 1.1817, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.9022.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.75% at 92.707.
