Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 1.31% to hit a new 52-week high, while the index climbed 0.62%, and the index climbed 1.68%.
The best performers of the session on the were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:), which rose 3.99% or 0.620 points to trade at 16.160 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:) added 2.78% or 7.30 points to end at 270.30 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:) was up 2.77% or 4.90 points to 181.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:), which fell 1.07% or 1.200 points to trade at 110.550 at the close. Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:) declined 0.55% or 0.360 points to end at 65.400 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:) was down 0.07% or 0.050 points to 74.360.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which rose 3.30% to 23.500, Varta AG (DE:) which was up 3.26% to settle at 95.000 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) which gained 3.16% to close at 47.970.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:) which was down 6.57% to 49.240 in late trade, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:) which lost 4.09% to settle at 10.440 and Grand City Properties SA (DE:) which was down 1.91% to 21.52 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:) which rose 5.45% to 9.600, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 3.30% to settle at 23.500 and Varta AG (DE:) which gained 3.26% to close at 95.000.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:) which was down 6.57% to 49.240 in late trade, Wirecard AG (DE:) which lost 1.07% to settle at 110.550 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 0.78% to 63.600 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 443 to 237 and 71 ended unchanged.
Shares in MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.78% or 7.30 to 270.30. Shares in Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.16% or 1.470 to 47.970.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.46% or 7.15 to $1553.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.29% or 0.17 to hit $59.44 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $65.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1105, while EUR/GBP rose 0.32% to 0.8502.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 97.165.
