Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the added 0.47%, while the index added 0.44%, and the index gained 0.73%.

The best performers of the session on the were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:), which rose 2.73% or 1.780 points to trade at 67.040 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:) added 1.97% or 3.54 points to end at 183.46 and Merck KGaA (DE:) was up 1.74% or 1.85 points to 108.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:), which fell 0.90% or 0.460 points to trade at 50.680 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:) declined 0.36% or 0.17 points to end at 46.87 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:) was down 0.31% or 0.080 points to 25.710.

The top performers on the MDAX were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:) which rose 2.55% to 23.340, Lanxess AG (DE:) which was up 2.50% to settle at 63.880 and Fraport AG (DE:) which gained 2.41% to close at 75.780.

The worst performers were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:) which was down 5.71% to 11.400 in late trade, LEG Immobilien AG (DE:) which lost 2.13% to settle at 101.200 and Stroeer SE (DE:) which was down 1.63% to 72.200 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:) which rose 2.77% to 21.50, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:) which was up 2.36% to settle at 104.000 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:) which gained 2.22% to close at 32.240.

The worst performers were SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:) which was down 3.41% to 15.30 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:) which lost 0.39% to settle at 43.47 and Freenet AG NA (DE:) which was down 0.23% to 21.300 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 439 to 247 and 76 ended unchanged.

Shares in K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.71% or 0.690 to 11.400. Shares in Lanxess AG (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.50% or 1.560 to 63.880. Shares in SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.22% or 0.700 to 32.240.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.50% to 13.06 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.35% or 5.15 to $1468.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.67% or 0.95 to hit $57.72 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.83% or 1.14 to trade at $63.42 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1054, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8565.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 97.860.
