At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.37% to hit a new 6-months high, while the MDAX index gained 0.64%, and the TecDAX index added 1.21%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 3.15% or 0.900 points to trade at 29.510 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (DE:1COV) added 1.94% or 0.900 points to end at 47.280 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was up 1.77% or 0.605 points to 34.760 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p), which fell 2.28% or 3.40 points to trade at 145.57 at the close. Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG) declined 1.62% or 1.205 points to end at 73.035 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was down 1.19% or 2.85 points to 235.95.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which rose 5.28% to 12.220, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 4.68% to settle at 113.050 and HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which gained 4.44% to close at 49.88.
The worst performers were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 3.91% to 37.82 in late trade, Hochtief AG (DE:HOTG) which lost 2.58% to settle at 81.05 and Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was down 1.73% to 47.490 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which rose 5.28% to 12.220, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 4.68% to settle at 113.050 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which gained 3.91% to close at 111.500.
The worst performers were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which was down 0.82% to 19.44 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 0.27% to settle at 111.000 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 0.30% to 65.700 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 367 to 297 and 37 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.82% to 22.14.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.29% or 23.30 to $1782.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.55% or 0.25 to hit $45.46 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.39 to trade at $48.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1951, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.8958.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 91.782.
