Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 0.24% to hit a new 52-week high, while the index gained 0.33%, and the index gained 0.20%.

The best performers of the session on the were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:), which rose 2.00% or 4.70 points to trade at 239.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:) added 1.94% or 1.84 points to end at 96.56 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:) was up 1.85% or 1.950 points to 107.150 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (DE:), which fell 5.11% or 14.37 points to trade at 266.98 at the close. Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:) declined 1.33% or 0.710 points to end at 52.610 and Wirecard AG (DE:) was down 1.18% or 1.450 points to 121.050.

The top performers on the MDAX were United Internet AG NA (DE:) which rose 4.74% to 28.950, Brenntag AG (DE:) which was up 4.51% to settle at 47.270 and Hannover Rueck SE (DE:) which gained 3.24% to close at 165.80.

The worst performers were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) which was down 5.99% to 41.355 in late trade, Leoni AG (DE:) which lost 5.44% to settle at 12.785 and Fraport AG (DE:) which was down 3.65% to 72.940 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were United Internet AG NA (DE:) which rose 4.74% to 28.950, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:) which was up 4.60% to settle at 154.70 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:) which gained 2.89% to close at 103.200.

The worst performers were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) which was down 6.68% to 41.0500 in late trade, Isra Vision O.N. (DE:) which lost 3.49% to settle at 43.10 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 2.71% to 19.190 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 347 to 338 and 74 ended unchanged.

Shares in Hannover Rueck SE (DE:) rose to all time highs; rising 3.24% or 5.20 to 165.80. Shares in Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.60% or 6.80 to 154.70.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.07% to 13.97.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.60% or 8.85 to $1492.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.63% or 0.93 to hit $56.30 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.89% or 1.19 to trade at $61.77 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1069, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8611.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 97.778.
