Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the gained 0.11%, while the index gained 0.20%, and the index climbed 0.03%.

The best performers of the session on the were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:), which rose 2.57% or 6.20 points to trade at 247.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:) added 1.40% or 0.245 points to end at 17.710 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:) was up 0.92% or 0.315 points to 34.435 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:), which fell 0.94% or 0.250 points to trade at 26.410 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:) declined 0.91% or 0.178 points to end at 19.276 and Covestro AG (DE:) was down 0.91% or 0.400 points to 43.650.

The top performers on the MDAX were Leoni AG (DE:) which rose 4.07% to 12.670, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 3.72% to settle at 106.0000 and Aurubis AG (DE:) which gained 3.15% to close at 48.120.

The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (DE:) which was down 7.20% to 67.000 in late trade, Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) which lost 1.27% to settle at 45.240 and Fielmann AG (DE:) which was down 1.16% to 72.150 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:) which rose 3.72% to 106.000, Software AG (DE:) which was up 2.81% to settle at 30.720 and Drillisch AG (DE:) which gained 2.03% to close at 25.180.

The worst performers were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:) which was down 4.62% to 54.750 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:) which lost 2.48% to settle at 51.050 and Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:) which was down 1.77% to 8.5260 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 356 to 308 and 97 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.92% or 0.315 to 34.435.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.62% to 14.27.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.18% or 2.65 to $1474.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.92% or 1.67 to hit $55.47 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.34% or 1.46 to trade at $60.98 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1080, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8573.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 97.705.
