France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.05%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.05%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.19%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (PA:ORAN), which rose 6.30% or 0.57 points to trade at 9.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (PA:WLN) added 4.47% or 2.78 points to end at 64.92 and Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) was up 2.01% or 0.55 points to 27.92 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Thales (PA:TCFP), which fell 2.09% or 1.20 points to trade at 56.30 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 2.06% or 0.21 points to end at 10.24 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was down 1.69% or 0.23 points to 13.37.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which rose 10.58% to 5.17, Orange SA (PA:ORAN) which was up 6.30% to settle at 9.62 and Nexity (PA:NEXI) which gained 5.30% to close at 23.86.

The worst performers were Albioma SA (PA:ABIO) which was down 6.24% to 39.85 in late trade, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which lost 5.86% to settle at 0.450 and Faurecia (PA:EPED) which was down 4.16% to 31.82 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 350 to 227 and 68 ended unchanged.

Shares in CGG SA (PA:GEPH) fell to all time lows; falling 5.86% or 0.028 to 0.450.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 4.18% to 34.31.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.53% or 10.05 to $1869.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 4.09% or 1.53 to hit $35.86 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 4.01% or 1.59 to trade at $38.05 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.72% to 1.1660, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.9045.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.74% at 94.102.
