France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.18%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.18%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.12%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX), which rose 1.14% or 1.30 points to trade at 115.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) added 1.12% or 0.36 points to end at 32.41 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was up 1.05% or 0.67 points to 64.19 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 4.78% or 1.08 points to trade at 21.50 at the close. Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) declined 2.62% or 0.38 points to end at 14.10 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) was down 2.35% or 0.57 points to 23.64.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) which rose 6.67% to 208.00, Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was up 4.22% to settle at 76.50 and GTT (PA:GTT) which gained 3.61% to close at 70.35.

The worst performers were Tarkett (PA:TKTT) which was down 7.92% to 9.54 in late trade, Renault SA (PA:RENA) which lost 4.78% to settle at 21.50 and Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was down 4.47% to 4.81 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 324 to 234 and 92 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.24% to 28.59.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.13% or 20.35 to $1780.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.48% or 0.58 to hit $39.85 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.91% or 0.79 to trade at $42.06 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1264, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.9025.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 97.040.
