France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.13%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.13%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.14%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 2.91% or 1.20 points to trade at 42.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) added 2.14% or 1.38 points to end at 65.72 and Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) was up 1.96% or 0.24 points to 12.29 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB), which fell 7.98% or 2.93 points to trade at 33.80 at the close. Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) declined 1.50% or 0.62 points to end at 40.81 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was down 1.00% or 2.90 points to 288.50.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eiffage SA (PA:FOUG) which rose 10.23% to 77.14, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was up 9.33% to settle at 15.650 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which gained 7.36% to close at 3.22.

The worst performers were Biomerieux SA (PA:BIOX) which was down 9.87% to 125.10 in late trade, Rexel (PA:RXL) which lost 9.69% to settle at 9.65 and Arkema SA (PA:AKE) which was down 9.57% to 85.00 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 294 to 254 and 79 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 4.96% to 27.88 a new 1-month high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.35% or 6.70 to $1913.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.17% or 0.07 to hit $41.19 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.07 to trade at $42.86 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.1782, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.9074.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 93.287.
