France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.05%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.05%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.04%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP), which rose 3.90% or 5.50 points to trade at 146.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) added 2.19% or 0.35 points to end at 16.30 and Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN) was up 2.12% or 2.25 points to 108.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 3.86% or 1.52 points to trade at 37.86 at the close. Atos SE (PA:ATOS) declined 3.12% or 2.12 points to end at 65.76 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was down 2.43% or 3.80 points to 152.50.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) which rose 7.40% to 81.25, SES (PA:SESFd) which was up 6.19% to settle at 7.10 and Eutelsat Communications SA (PA:ETL) which gained 4.26% to close at 8.61.

The worst performers were Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (PA:PLOF) which was down 9.13% to 20.90 in late trade, Sopra Steria Group SA (PA:SOPR) which lost 6.52% to settle at 127.60 and Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which was down 5.66% to 11.99 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 343 to 227 and 89 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.20% to 28.88.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.40% or 27.05 to $1902.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.87% or 0.75 to hit $40.78 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.06% or 0.86 to trade at $42.59 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1822, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.9028.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 92.918.
