At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.84% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (PA:ALSO), which rose 3.29% or 1.41 points to trade at 44.22 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 2.98% or 0.56 points to end at 19.20 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was up 2.82% or 5.15 points to 187.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE), which fell 0.83% or 0.19 points to trade at 22.72 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 0.63% or 0.09 points to end at 13.31 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was down 0.52% or 0.32 points to 61.22.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Natixis (PA:CNAT) which rose 7.91% to 3.74, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was up 4.48% to settle at 0.933 and Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which gained 3.82% to close at 49.19.
The worst performers were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which was down 3.76% to 9.06 in late trade, Biomerieux SA (PA:BIOX) which lost 3.46% to settle at 125.50 and Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which was down 3.45% to 9.94 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 384 to 212 and 71 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.82% or 5.15 to 187.85. Shares in Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.82% or 1.81 to 49.19.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.39% or 25.25 to $1838.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.64% or 0.93 to hit $57.78 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.14% or 0.68 to trade at $60.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.2046, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8767.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.00% at 90.965.
