France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.62%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.62% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.70%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (PA:ALSO), which rose 3.87% or 1.68 points to trade at 45.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) added 2.53% or 3.95 points to end at 160.00 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) was up 1.93% or 1.44 points to 76.24 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS), which fell 0.61% or 5.00 points to trade at 821.00 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) declined 0.36% or 0.14 points to end at 38.43 and AXA SA (PA:AXAF) was down 0.10% or 0.02 points to 19.77.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Electricite de France SA (PA:EDF) which rose 10.60% to 12.94, Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was up 5.91% to settle at 5.45 and Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) which gained 4.31% to close at 138.10.

The worst performers were ICADE (PA:ICAD) which was down 5.42% to 61.10 in late trade, Bollore SA (PA:BOLL) which lost 1.39% to settle at 3.26 and SCOR SE (PA:SCOR) which was down 1.43% to 29.00 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 383 to 205 and 76 ended unchanged.

Shares in Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.31% or 5.70 to 138.10.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.51% to 19.57 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.46% or 26.40 to $1779.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.70% or 0.32 to hit $45.39 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.35 to trade at $48.14 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1945, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8951.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 91.812.
