Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.47%

At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.47%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Vocus Group Ltd (ASX:VOC), which rose 8.60% or 0.43 points to trade at 5.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Corporate Travel Managment Ltd (ASX:CTD) added 7.47% or 1.43 points to end at 20.57 and Unibail Rodamco Westfield (ASX:URW) was up 6.13% or 0.31 points to 5.37 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Pro Medicus Ltd (ASX:PME), which fell 5.66% or 2.56 points to trade at 42.70 at the close. Megaport Ltd (ASX:MP1) declined 4.42% or 0.53 points to end at 11.47 and Insurance Australia Group Ltd (ASX:IAG) was down 3.95% or 0.190 points to 4.620.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 705 to 630 and 326 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vocus Group Ltd (ASX:VOC) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 8.60% or 0.43 to 5.43.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 21.85% to 14.240.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.96% or 16.15 to $1694.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.69% or 0.45 to hit $64.60 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.35 to trade at $67.89 a barrel.

AUD/USD was up 0.31% to 0.7673, while AUD/JPY rose 0.31% to 83.53.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 92.213.
